This vacancy is full time, part time working will also be considered. The starting salary (£28,407 - £42,618 - Band 5 to Band 6) will depend upon qualifications and experience.

Main duties of the job

Practice Nursing is a diverse role; it includes cervical screening, travel clinics and care for patients with diabetes, asthma and COPD. The post offers potential for involvement in the future design of care delivery and support for continuing professional development.

Our clinical staff are supported by a highly experienced administrative and management team. All our nursing staff can feed into the Valens Nurse Board, which is integral in helping to achieve our vision and shape the nursing team for the future. This forum enables our nurses to be at the forefront of decision making, driving change and improving quality of care.

About us

Valens Medical Partnership is a GP Practice and leading Primary Care Network (PCN). We embrace new, innovative ways of working and technology that supports us in delivering patient care, looking after the healthcare needs of around 52,000 patients across our eight surgeries in Northumberland.

Our surgeries are situated in Ashington, Cramlington, Lynemouth, Morpeth, Newbiggin, Pegswood, Seaton Delaval and Seaton Sluice. You will be based at our Brockwell Surgery in Cramlington and must be able to travel to meet the requirements of the role.

To work unsupervised in accordance with practice protocols and local/national guidelines, but within own competencies and the standards required in the NMC Code of Professional Conduct.

You may provide mentorship and supervision to student nurses and healthcare assistants.

You may act as Lead Nurse in one or more of the following key areas:
