Job summary

Norton Medical Centre is seeking to recruit a GP to join our well organised, progressive Partnership, as a Salaried GP or GP Partner. Our ideal candidate is a highly motivated, enthusiastic individual with a strong work ethic who thrives on working as a part of a democratic team.

We offer NHS Pension, BMA approved contract and a salary of £8,000-£10,000 per session per annum, depending on whether full responsibility for a patient list is taken. We are looking for around 5 sessions per week, to include allocated admin sessions, which are normally worked remotely. However, for the right candidate, we are willing to be flexible on the exact number of sessions.

Our vacancy has arisen in support of a work life balance for our current Partners and in response to patient demands. We are a teaching and training Practice that aims to support its GPs in enhancing their skills and special interests as part of their career development.

Main duties of the job

Norton Medical Centre aims to provide the highest standards of health care within its available resources. Supported by the wider practice team, our GPs are responsive to patient needs providing a range of consultations to include face to face, telephone, video and eConsultations. You will provide patients with clinical assessment, evaluation, diagnosis, treatment and, where required, onward referral. Quality history and note taking is fundamental to your role as is safe, cost-effective prescribing.

In addition to providing good clinical care, you will support the business in maximising its income by managing patients in line with NICE guidance and QOF targets and recording this activity using the recommended SNOMED codes.

You will be aware of the Access to Health Records and Access to Health Reports Acts and, with the support of our admin teams, you will provide our patients with the information they require in a timely fashion.

You may also be required to support the training and induction of other clinicians including, but not limited to, our GP Registrars and Medical Students.
