Job summary
The post holder will join the Manchester Locality Designated Safeguarding Team with responsibilities at both locality and pan GM.
The post holder will deputise for the Designated Nurse for Safeguarding Children in accordance with Working Together to Safeguard Children 2023, Children Act 1989 and 2004; and assist in fulfilling statutory responsibilities as defined in the document Promoting the Health and Wellbeing of Looked After Children 2015 (Department of Health and Department of Education and Skills). Working within a supportive team the post holder will report to the Designated Nurse for Safeguarding Children, ensuring there is service cover for the designated role and wider team cover for all duties.
Main duties of the job
The postholder will be responsible for:
- Delivery of the expected functions of the designated role as stated within intercollegiate competency framework and will support the Designated Nurse for Safeguarding Children and contribute to the Looked after Children and Safeguarding Adults agenda working across and embedding a 'whole family model'.
- Working to ensure that NHS GM (Manchester) is compliant with all national legislation, directions, and guidance.
- Supporting the Designated Safeguarding Team and Partners to embed effective high-quality safeguarding practices and improve clinical standards and performance outcomes for children and families across Greater Manchester
