Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and dynamic Programme Manager to join the Workforce Development team, as part of the Greater Manchester ICB's People & Culture Function. A key focus of work will be to support projects focused around increasing T level placement capacity and developing technical career pathways across Greater Manchester. The role will also matrix work across the Workforce Development portfolio.
There will be a requirement for this post holder to liaise with a large range of stakeholders; across the NHS, local authorities and combined authority in Greater Manchester as well as with wider public sector partners and the community, voluntary and social enterprise sector, so the role will see you working closely and influence a diverse range of workforce partners. Frequent travel across GM may be required.
In addition to your expertise of T level placements and project/programme management, we are looking for someone with experience of working across multi-organisational boundaries who can bring their enthusiasm and stakeholder engagement skills to help deliver system-wide change.
This role is available for a 12 month period - applicants need to secure support to be seconded from their current line or senior manager before applying (if applicable) or it can also be offered as a fixed term position.
Main duties of the job
o Support the creation of a sustainable, joined-up placement infrastructure for all non-medical placements across GM, creating clear pathways and ensuring strong pipelines for the growth of the workforce.
o Scope, develop programme plans, and deliver work programme to increase T level placements across GM, and develop the technical career pathway agenda in Health and social care, alongside contributing to other activities in the Workforce Development portfolio.
o Identify, influence and collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders across GM to successfully deliver strategic priorities.
o Identify requirements, produce and maintain project/programme documentation; including risks and issues logs, project and programme plans, Gantt charts and stakeholder maps etc.
o Produce a broad range of written documentation to a high standard, tailored to varying audiences, including; briefing papers to board level, reports, comms outputs, and Powerpoint presentations.
o Using expertise in programme and project management methodology, to ensure projects are managed to a high standard.
o Apply a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
o Identify, address and escalate risks and issues to effectively manage optimal project delivery.
o Work flexibly across the portfolio, adapting to the needs of the team and stakeholders as required.
o Work to tight deadlines and manage competing priorities, an ability to switch tasks is essential.
