Job summary

An exciting opportunity for someone with extensive experience of all age Mental Health, Learning Disabilities and Autism to join NHS Greater Manchester Integrated Care, in the Tameside locality as Head of all Age Mental Health, Learning Disabilities & Autism.

This important role will lead and oversee a wide range of health and social care work programmes to ensure delivery of high quality mental health and Learning Disability & Autism services for all ages of the population of Tameside. Working with colleagues in a matrix approach and covering all life stages (all-age).

Although this role is based within the Tameside locality of the GMICB, the post holder will be required to work closely with the central teams to lead cross-GM work programmes which may include supervision of staff working outside Tameside.

Main duties of the job

The Head of all age Mental Health, Learning Disabilities & Autism is responsible for leading the operational and strategic delivery of MHLDA for Tameside ICS and as part of NHSGM and acting as a key System leader and role model on MHLDA, providing leadership across organisational and professional boundaries to facilitate transformational change in Tameside.

Work with the MH & LD clinical lead for mental health and ensuring the full engagement of all stakeholders in the delivery of national policy and guidelines and local priorities, ensuring people with lived experience are engaged in co-production at all times.

Leading the Mental Health and Learning Disabilities & Autism team within the service redesign function and working closely with the rest of the Tameside locality team as a senior leader in the system, as well as working closely with the central GMIC teams to lead on GM wide programmes of work.

This role will require significant experience of leading the commissioning mental health services at a population and individual level and in delivering programmes of service pathway change to deliver efficient and effective services.
