An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented individual to play an active role in supporting the adult social care workforce programme, and in particular the development of an academy model which supports the growth and retention of the current and future social work and social care workforce, developing and retaining skills, and enhancing recruitment and retention in a new era of integrated care to ultimately improve the lives of those using health and social care services.
A ground-breaking academy can support the adult social care transformation ambitions for Greater Manchester by building capacity across the sector through securing future talent and upskilling the workforce, driven by market workforce intelligence. The academy will help to identify the opportunities that can be developed to address social care challenges through upskilling, development of improved and integrated career pathways and workforce innovation, and how this can be done through creative approaches to attracting people into social care careers.
Main duties of the job
The Business Support Officer will provide and coordinate administrative and secretarial services including the co-ordination of meetings with internal and external stakeholders undertaking appropriate preparation and follow-up action as required, communicating with stakeholders and supporting the organising and planning of events.
The role involves working with multiple organisations and coordinating the activities of those involved in the Adult Social Care Workforce Programme, so you must be adaptable and flexible, and able to cope with uncertainty, change and fluctuating deadlines, with with experience of initiating and maintaining office systems.

This is a fixed-term contract for 12 months, which could be accommodated via secondment or a fixed-term contract. Aspects of the work can be done remotely/from home but travel to office locations across Greater Manchester will be required during the period.
