An opportunity has arisen within Laboratory Medicine for a Biomedical Support Worker. The successful candidate will work as part of a team, delivering laboratory results to in-patients, out-patients within our hospitals, and to GP surgeries within the Swansea Bay UHB.
Main duties of the job
Applications are invited from enthusiastic and well-motivated individuals for the post of Biomedical Support Worker. The post holder will work as part of a team delivering support services for clinical and scientific staff within Laboratory Medicine.
There are various Hospital sites within SBUHB, but this post is primarily forourMorriston,Singletonand Neath/Port Talbotsites.
There is a requirement to work evenings, nightsand weekends on a rota basis.Duties will include receipt and registration of patient samples, such as blood & urine, prior to analysis, assisting in the referral of specimens to specialist laboratories and communicating laboratory information to our users.
Data entry experience isdesirable for this role, keyboard skills essential.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
The ability to travel between sites in a timely manner is essential.
