This will be a permanent position with full time hours (37.5 hours, Mon-Fri 9-5pm, excluding BH). The post holder should be flexible to enable the work base to change to meet specific service demands and at times of escalation. This may involve supporting local health protection teams and working with community-based partner organisations/providers.
The role may involve daily travel between multiple health board premises and community settings, often on the same day, to provide support, education, and audit in relation to IP&C. The role includes providing support to staff on all aspects of infection prevention and control including equipment decontamination. You will also support in the delivery of education and perform audit across the service groups.
The post holder will visit clinical areas to undertake data collection, perform observations of infection prevention and control practice to provide feedback and enable reporting and assurance on the application of and compliance against Infection prevention and control standards. The post holder will also provide support during the monitoring of infection outbreaks and monitor control measures that are required for patients with an alert organism.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post, but not essential. English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
