Job summary

As a Bank Porter in Swansea Bay University Health Board you will play an important part in the provision of excellent care to our patients, and be part of a friendly and dedicated team. Porters play a crucial part in keeping the hospital working by moving patients, goods and equipment between wards and departments to where they are needed in addition to controlling and removing the clinical waste to keep out Hospital clean and hygienic.

Main duties of the job

The Bank is an ideal way of earning extra money or looking at starting a career in the Health Board. It offers work on an ad hoc or flexible basis as you will be covering shortages in staffing levels of our permanent staff, but ideally you will be available to work full time time hours across a variety of shifts 24/7 7 days a week.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

  • Customer services training NVQ level 2 or Knowledge of effective team working
  • Ability to achieve NVQ Knowledge level 2 portering
