Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen within Primary Care Dental services in the role of Operations Manager. This post will be responsible for dental services within Restorative Dentistry, Dental Teaching Unit and Single Point of Access.
Main duties of the job
This is a managerial post within SBU Health Board Primary Care Dental Team which includes working with the Clinical Leads and Senior Team Members and on own initiative in:
- The delivery of timely, safe, efficient and effective patient care in Restorative Dentistry.
- Dental Teaching Unit and Dental Single Point of Access (Dental Services).
- Operationally managing the maintenance and contract budgets in accordance with Health Board policies and current best practices and ensuring that all opportunities for the continuous development and improvement of the service are considered and pursued if appropriate.
- Taking overall responsibility for the line management of the senior dental nurse and dental teams.
- Provides professional guidance and leadership for all Dental Nurses within the areas of responsibility to promote best practice and the delivery of a high-quality service to all patient groups.
- Assist in the management of joint working with SBUHB's General Dental Services and Community Dental Services Morriston Hospital (Head and Neck), Primary Care Management Team and other agencies to ensure the integration and development of Dental Services within SBUHB.

- Educated to Masters level or able to demonstrate the equivalent level of knowledge, skills and experience.
- Qualified registered dental nurse with the General Dental Council
- Advanced in-depth knowledge of the role of operational services.

- Knowledge of other dental services.
- Knowledge of clinical governance.
- Good working knowledge of HR issues.
