Job summary

Are you an enthusiastic motivated Neonatal nurse who is able to provide high quality care for babies and their families in the Community.

There is an opportunity for a suitable experienced Neonatal Nurse to assist in this developing service to cover across the SBUHB site.

We are seeking an individual with excellent managerial, leadership and organisational skills, who has the ability to delegate and prioritise workload.

You should be a Registered Children or Adult Nurse, with a minimum of 3 years post registration experience within neonates. Candidates should be able to demonstrate evidence of a commitment to continuing professional development.

Ability to travel between Swansea and Bridgend neonatal units in a timely manner is essential.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Main duties of the job

To manage an individual caseload providing a high-quality specialist neonatal nursing care service to those babies who require specific medical and nursing needs in the community setting.

Maintain close working relationships with nursing and medical staff within the neonatal unit and wider MDT to facilitate seamless discharge to home

Initiate clinical assessments, identify care plans and maintain ongoing individual action plans for each patient.

To promote the continuing development of child centred, family focused care.

Offer support, advice and education to parents, carers and other professionals.

To act as a role model and expert practitioner.

To provide innovative and progressive attitude to continual improvement of patient care through research and evidence-based practice.

Contribute to and support the development of policies, protocols, guidelines and setting standards
