Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a registered, motivated & experienced Recovery Practitioner/ODP to undertake the role of Recovery Team Leader within our busy Main Theatre team at Morriston Hospital.

The successful candidate will supervise the recovery team to assess, develop, implement and evaluate post-operative patient care on a daily basis and will work closely with all disciplines to ensure the effective running of the department within set guidelines in the absence of a Speciality Manager.

You will manage own workload/area and supervise the work of others within a team. You will be involved in the deployment, supervision and teaching of staff within the clinical area and support the Speciality Managers in providing clinical and managerial leadership to Nursing/Operating Department Practitioners and support staff.

You may also be required to work in similar departments across other hospital sites within the Health Board when service demands require.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will contribute to the daily running of the designated hub, ensuring the provision of the highest standards of care, services and patient safety in line with the Health Boards values.

Provide professional leadership within the clinical area, providing direction and inspirational leadership to all members of theteam, acting as a role model at all times ensuring professional standards are maintained.

Take the role of theatre coordinator overnight and at weekends in the absence of the Theatre Hub Manager / TheatreMatron.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate flexibility and adaptability. As when service demands, staff are required to work across all three hospital sites, within Swansea Bay University Health Board.
