Job summary
The post holder will be responsible for the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care for oncology/haematology in-patients admitted to ward 12. This will include working as a member of the multi-disciplinary team and ensuring that a consistently high standard of individualised patient care is maintained.
We aim to provide an individualised and supportive environment for patients in which to deliver this specialist care to a high standard. Innovative nursing is encouraged and there is a well-established and supportive team working on the ward including dedicated ward based OT/Physio/Dietitian/Pharmacist.

Main duties of the job
We are looking to recruit dynamic and motivated nurses to come and join our team in the Oncology/Haematology ward 12 in Singleton Hospital.Our department takes care of patients with a range of cancers undergoing treatments such as chemotherapy & radiotherapy; those admitted for symptom management e.g. malignant spinal cord compression, neutropenic sepsis; supportive therapies, Bone Marrow Transplant and end of life care.We are looking for nurses who have the desire and enthusiasm to expand/enhance their nursing experience/skills (e.g. management of central lines; phlebotomy/cannulation; delivery of chemotherapy) and work in this rewarding environment.You will be supported in your post by the ward sisters/team and the Clinical Educator and offered learning and developmental opportunities appropriate to your personal development.We aim to provide an individualised and supportive environment for patients in which to deliver this specialist care to a high standard.
