Specialist Neonatal Nurse – Quality, Safety and Risk

Job summary

The post holder will play a pivitol role working within the neonatal multidisciplinary team and management team responsible for supporting the delivery of the Neonatal safety and quality strategy agenda. Creating a safety first culture that focuses on high quality care, preventing avoidable harm by using best practice lessons learned and analysing data to identify incident themes and area's for improvement

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply

Main duties of the job

Working autonomously plan and prioritise tasks to ensure safe clinical services supporting innovations in practice, to promote quality improvement and service improvement, including remodelling of roles and rosters.o Lead the local implementation of the Patient experience agenda working with colleagues in Maternity through Maternity voices.o In conjunction with the Neonatal Matron, and medical leads develop 'plan of action' where there are shortfalls identified and ensure effective implementation across the multidisciplinary team strong the sensitive documents on the health board electronic system eg Datix.o Ensure there are plans and mechanisms in place to timely identify incidents requiring reporting Nationally and collate reviews identifying trends which can then be fed back to the service for improvement etc.o Work with the Neonatal Matron and clinical leadership team to ensure that the requirements of the Duty of Quality and Duty of Candour are met ensuring that Neonatal service meets all serious incidents and never event reporting requirements and there is an escalation plan in place in the event of non-compliance. Ensuring all safety alerts are reviewed and actioned accordingly to health Board procedures in a timely way and that local compliance is monitored and reported as required
