Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, experienced Dietitian to join the pulmonary rehabilitation team in SBUHB. The post holder will work alongside a second highly specialist dietitian and two dietetic assistant practitioners to deliver the dietetic service across Neath Port Talbot Bridgend and Swansea. As part of the MDT you will deliver patient focused care in the community including community locations, patients own home and outpatient settings along the patients care pathway.
The post would be suitable for a highly motivated dietitian who already has sound knowledge and experience of working within MDTs. We would like to hear from you if you are willing to learn and utilise transferable skills, able to build collaborative relationships and enjoy working with individuals and groups.
You will be expected to supervise and mentor junior staff, student dietitians and generic support workers. You will support the operational management of the wider MDT in conjunction with the Pulmonary Rehabilitation team Manager.
You will be supported in attending relevant professional networking meetings, interest groups and relevant CPD opportunities.
You will be based in Bridgend but will be expected to cover services across locations throughout the Health Board.
Main duties of the job
- Management of own complex clinical caseload providing specialist nutrition and dietetic advice in specialty field to Pulmonary Rehabilitation Team.
- Working independently with patients using highly developed communication skills based on negotiation, counselling and behavioural change therapy.
- Working independently using highly developed communication skills planning, implementing and evaluating evidence-based Nutrition and Dietetic interventions
- Providing expert advice in Pulmonary Rehabilitation within Primary Care e.g. Nutrition support and weight management for a wide range of respiratory outpatients and at home.
- Liaison with Respiratory consultants and specialist Respiratory Nurses regarding nutritional health and adequacy for Pulmonary Rehabilitation patients.
