An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated and creative marketing & digital engagement professional with a flexible approach to join us, and contribute to the vital work of the Occupational Health & Staff Wellbeing Service within Swansea Bay UHB.
Previous experience and / or knowledge of the work of the NHS would be an advantage but not essential.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome
Main duties of the job
The Marketing & Digital Engagement Officer will be responsible for the planning, creation and publication of engaging promotional content through a broad range of communications channels for the Occupational Health & Staff Wellbeing Service to raise the profile of the service ensuring a positive image is maintained. Working alongside the wider team, the post holder will take the lead in creating a range of compelling content, including bulletins, case studies, digital service user stories, video content, social media graphics, posters/leaflets and other related promotional content, for a range of topics including health promotion, the staff Flu Vaccination campaign and general promotion of the service.
The post holder will be required plan and participate in events to promote the service to Health Board staff and relevant stakeholders.
The Marketing & Digital Engagement Officer will have strong digital content creation skills to ensure all content can be repurposed for maximum impact across a range of channels ensuring maximum engagement especially within hard to reach areas

Job responsibilities
Working autonomously the post holder is a key member of the Occupational Health & Staff Wellbeing (OH&SWB) Team who will support the maintenance and promote the profile of the Service amongst staff, and stakeholders.
Work alongside members of the OH & SWB team plus key stakeholders across the organisation including but not exclusive to the Workforce Business Partners, the Wellbeing Champion Network. Immunisation Team and Communications department to generate positive coverage of routine OH & SWB activities, developments, training and specific campaigns and initiatives through contributing to and supporting communications.
Assist the team when required with a range of administration duties. To manage incoming correspondence, including but not limited to emails, phone calls and mail. Ensure that incoming emails are to be dealt with in a timely manner and organised effectively to avoid a delay in response time, this also applies to any physical mail. Answering telephone calls on behalf of the Service in a professional yet friendly manner, up keeping the face of the Service.
Help achieve positive media coverage for the service supporting effective reactive social media, internal communications and promotional material, responding to queries / requests as appropriate. . This involves exchanging complex, sensitive or contentious information, where barriers to understanding may exist or co-operation is required specifically in the development of Service User stories. Collate material for replies for inquiries that require approval from a senior team member. Ensure queries are answered quickly, highly efficiently and effectively. Refer calls to other members of the team as necessary.
Play a key role in achieving positive coverage for the Service by delivering effective proactive media content. Identify research and prepare bulletins. Source and prepare case studies / service user stories for promotional use. Prepare, plan and organise programmed events. Co-ordinate, support the planning, and organization of specific communication projects and programmes for the service for example staff vaccination campaigns, supporting attendance management and health promotion events.
Manage the English & Welsh language social media sites for the Service and online by preparing Communications material for Welsh translation sign off, uploading material and managing queries/responses.
Evaluate and appraise day-to-day communication issues, assess and undertake a comparison of a range of options to determine on the appropriate means of resolution that lead to positive outcomes.

- Educated to degree level in a related area (communications; marketing; PR;) or equivalent work experience
- Extensive knowledge in software including but not exclusively, Microsoft, SharePoint, Adobe Creative, Canva, Photoshop and video editing software, and a range of social media platforms
- Media / Communication skills Knowledge of communications, public relations or marketing theory and practice.
Desirable
- Professional qualifications in marketing, PR or journalism
