Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Band 2 Heath Care Support Worker to join our team on Neuro Rehabilitation Neath Port Talbot Hospital.
The successful candidate will work within the nursing team which is a 14 bedded rehabilitation unit - 2 short stay and 12 long stay beds providing a regional service specialising in brain injuries. The post holder will be required to work as part of the current seven day service, which includes bank holidays, weekends and nights. Part time and full time hours are available.
The Healthcare Assistant (Level 2) will work at all times under the delegation of a registered practitioner or assistant practitioner in the delivery ofperson centred care.
Neuro rehab offers a friendly and dynamic working environment and have a strong work ethic of working together as a structured MDT, for best outcomes for our patients and delivering high quality care.
We are looking for individuals with good clinical interpersonal and communication skills, who are willing and able to adapt to change and to work individually within their level of competence.
Main duties of the job
You will be undertaking a vital role in maintaining quality care and be part in the recovery of our patients.
You will be carrying out several assigned clinical and care tasks related with direct patient care which can have a truly remarkable impact. You willbe supported and supervised by a Registered Nurse while carrying out these activities.
Key duties include recording of Vital Signs, Manual Handling, Infection Prevention and Control, Safeguarding and carrying out Hydration &Nutrition checks.
You will also be supporting the Registered/Assistant Practitioner, delivering quality care based on the needs of the patient.
