Job summary
The Hotel Services Assistant is part of the chain involved in inpatient and day patient catering and will be responsible for the regeneration of foods, the delivery and return of regeneration trolleys to and from the kitchen and for the cleaning of the Ward Kitchen and all kitchen equipment
The Hotel Services Assistant will also be responsible for general Domestic duties. The Hotel Services Assistant will be expected to provide a high quality efficient service that fulfils the needs of the Department in accordance with service level agreements.
Main duties of the job
Catering
To receive instruction from Supervisor, Sister/Deputy of the time to start the regeneration cycle for chilled food and liquids and emergency meals, which require heating by microwave, to ensure that the service of meals is suitable.
Prepare and cook special dietary meals and snacks for patients i.e. Nutripenic, C.C.U. etc.
To receive food deliveries and store appropriately.
To probe foods for temperature and record findings as appropriate.
The regeneration of foods in line with cook-chill/cook-freeze guideline including the delivery and return of regeneration food trolleys to/from the kitchen.
To prepare and assemble crockery, cutlery and utensils for each patient meal service and the buttering of bread.
To prepare and serve morning and afternoon beverages to patients when necessary and too collect, wash and refill and distribute water jugs and tumblers.
To clear and wash all crockery, cutlery, glasses etc. using appropriate dishwashing machine and detergent.
The cleaning of the kitchen and associated areas, and equipment using appropriate detergents /chemicals.
Domestic
Cleaning of all hard floor surfaces by static mopping, damp mopping or vacuuming. The buffing, spray cleaning and scrubbing of hard floor surfaces
Vacuuming of soft floor coverings.
Cleaning of sanitary and bathroom accommodation.
Damp dusting and polishing of all furniture, fixtures and fittings.
Appropriate care of soft furnishings, curtains and blinds.
Replenish toilet requisites daily.
