Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced pharmacist with a special interest in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). We are thrilled to announce a newly funded opportunity for a passionate and experienced pharmacist to join our team at Swansea Bay University Health Board (SBUHB).As a key member of both the pharmacy and IBD team, you will play a crucial role in providing pharmaceutical care and expertise to patients with IBD.
You will have the unique opportunity to collaborate across sites within SBUHB. Your role will encompass a diverse range of responsibilities, each contributing to the holistic care and management of patients with IBD.
You will be required to deliver an independent prescribing service, initiating, monitoring and reviewing drug therapies. It will also encompass core directorate activities, championing clinical governance, risk management, and medication safety agendas within pharmacy andgastroenterology.

Main duties of the job
The role will involve working collaboratively with clinicians, nursing staff, pharmacy colleagues and other members of the multi-disciplinary team to ensure the delivery of high-quality pharmaceutical care.
A major component will be the proactive provision of timely, evidence-based advice to prescribers to enhance patient care and promote cost-effective use of medicines.
Delivering an independent prescribing service and managing pharmacy aspects of the gastroenterology Home Delivery Service.
Additionally, you will be required to participate in dispensary duties as well as participating in weekend, Bank Holiday and out of hours rotas as dictated by the needs of the service. You are required to have strong leadership qualities and provide supervision, mentorship and guidance to junior pharmacists and trainees.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
