We are looking for a general radiologist with specialist interest in musculoskeletal radiology.
This post will be joining a compliment of 30 Consultant Radiologists responsible for the provision of Radiological services to Swansea Bay University Health board. The post will be predominantly covering Morriston hospital, with some sessions delivered in either Singleton Hospital or Neath Port Talbot Hospital. Some work can also be delivered flexibly or from home, subject to the department's requirements. The post will also involve being part of the general radiology on call rota.
The Department offers many varied opportunities to capture all career aspirations within Radiology. Research and Development and teaching are fundamental to the service as a result of close working links with Swansea University Medical School, currently ranked 4th in the UK.
Main duties of the job
This is a new post joining nine MSK radiologists (some LTFT or Cross-HB). There will be opportunities to do subspecialty CT and MRI reporting as well as performing subspecialty ultrasound and fluoroscopy lists. There will also be provision to perform other intervention such as bone biopsies as well as general intervention if the applicant has the required competencies. The post also involves being part of the South Wales Sarcoma MDT.
You will provide a clinical service, with colleagues, which will include the responsibility for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of illness.
You will be expected to make a significant contribution to the service and Radiology Department planning process through active participation in the clinical Morriston Service Group structure.

The Health Board includes the busy tertiary referral centre of Morriston Hospital, the less acute, cancer orientated Singleton Hospital by the beach, and the smaller Neath Port Talbot Hospital. If you have an interest in education, many of our radiologists deliver sessions of dedicated teaching at the National Imaging Academy for Wales which is 40 minutes away along the M4. We also regularly teach medical students from Swansea University.

Currently, until 31st March 2025, Consultants appointed on the first three points of the Consultant pay scale also receive Wales annual recruitment incentive payments.
