Job summary
An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 full-time Speech and Language Therapist in the Swansea Integrated Community Resource Team. We are a small, enthusiastic, friendly and supportive team of Speech and Language Therapists. This role provides opportunities to deliver Speech and Language Therapy Services (communication and dysphagia) across Swansea to wide range of adult clients including those living with MND, Parkinson's disease, Dementia, Huntington's disease, PSP, and MSA. You will be part of a team responsible for the delivery of a specialised SLT service to people in their own homes and nursing homes and will be part of a dynamic multi-professional team including Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, District Nurses and Social Workers.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be required to:-
o Work within and adhere to the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT) Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct as well as local policies, procedures and guidelines.o Carry out assessment and treatment for individuals experiencing communication difficulties and depending on level of training support the team to provide assessment and advice for those living with swallowing difficultieso Use technical and creative skills to prepare resources & deliver therapeutic interventions for individual patientso Work well within the team, being a good team player and organise time effectively. The post holder will need to be motivated and enthusiastic, and have the resilience to work well under pressure.
