Job summary
The Nutrition and Dietetics Department in Swansea Bay UHB has an exciting opportunity for an experienced dietitian to join the team supporting the regional renal service. This post is based in Morriston Hospital. The post holder will lead the development of the service alongside another full time band 7 dietitian, rotational Band 6 dietitians and a band 5 dietitian. The post is permanent, full time (working 37.5 hours per week).
We are looking for an enthusiastic dietitian with post registration experience in renal nutrition. You should be able to demonstrate an ability to work with a wide range of patients and professionals as part of a multi-professional team, providing high quality care. Our renal service covers dialysis (haemodialysis, both home and unit, and peritoneal dialysis), chronic kidney disease and post-transplant patients, outpatients, as well as supporting inpatients on the specialist renal ward. Our dietetic service covers the South West Wales Renal region and will require travel across the area. You will be expected to support the development of band 5 and 6 dietitians who are new to renal as a speciality. Your clinical practices should align with Swansea Bay University Health Board values.
Main duties of the job
You will have skills in prioritisation and time management and quality improvement, with the ability to work autonomously and flexibly across the setting. You will be given opportunities to assist with service change and development and will also be required to lead on specific tasks, with the support of the Morriston Operational Lead Dietitian.
We offer both departmental and personal CPD time to support your development and share best practice. Our Department is committed to the development of evidenced based practice, research and clinical audit and you will be supported in attending relevant professional networking meetings both locally and nationally, interest groups and CPD opportunities as well as having an annual appraisal.
We have good support from administrative staff and dietetic support workers.
We are approved for student placements (1, 2 and 3). The Health Board has University status with Colleges of Medicine on site.
