About us

EMRTS Consultant Rota

Consultants will work a 12 hour duty period and will be expected to work both day and night shifts. As the service is seven days a week, pro-rata weekend working will be required.

A 12 day hour shift will be remunerated at 3.2 sessions whilst a 12 hour night shift will be remunerated at 4.5 sessions, with the additional allowance of SPA paid to LHB's. The rota is annualised over 42 weeks allowing for annual, study and professional leave.

The minimum contribution to the clinical rota will be 2 shifts per month, annualised. It is expected that most consultants will work a minimum of 2 sessions per week, which equates to 26.25 shifts per year. Some month to month variation in contributions will be inevitable but ongoing totals will be monitored.

It is expected that consultants will offer their availability at least three months in advance. Rostering in three month blocks will allow sufficient flexibility for all consultants to fulfill their sessional commitments.

Consultants are based at Dafen, Cardiff, Welshpool and Caernarfon. Consultants with the flexibility to work at, and contribute to the development of, more than one base (i.e. Dafen/Cardiff/Welshpool/Caernarfon) are particularly welcome
