**Secondment Opportunity **

Band 6 Charge Nurse - Fulltime (37.5 hours per week)

Swansea Bay Healthboard are seeking highly motivated and experienced registered mental health nurses to join the perinatal mental health inpatient service based at Tonna Hospital - Uned Gobaith. The 6 Bedded Inpatient unit, hosted by Swansea bay healthboard, is the only service of its kind in Wales.

Uned Gobaith delivers a highly specialised environment providing assessment, care and treatment to mothers experiencing severe mental illness during the perinatal period, whilst maintaining and nurturing the mother-infant relationship and supporting wider family networks.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidates will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, directly delivering high quality specialised care, supporting and supervising junior staff, co-ordinating the day to day activity of the ward to ensure safe and effective delivery of high quality nursing care.

The Uned Gobaith Charge nurses provide high quality clinical leadership of the ward based team, supporting the ongoing development of a positive, skilled and compassionate workforce, supporting the ward manager and senior clinical team through strong leadership skills, positive role modelling and professionalism at all times.

The successful candidates will be self motivated, and eager to engage in service development activity with colleagues and service users/carers/families to support the ongoing development of this essential service within Wales.

The successful candidate with develop and maintain a high level of knowledge and skills based on the most up to date and available evidence base relating to Perinatal Mental Health care and treatment.
