Job summary

We are looking for a Programme Manager for the Regional Orthopaedic programme of work, who shares our vision, ambition and values. The post holder will provide the Programme Lead of the regional orthopaedic programme board working alongside the clinical leads and business intelligence teams to provide programme management, expertise and leadership to deliver both health boards ambition for a regional orthopaedic service in line with the direction set by Welsh Government.

The post holder will interface with the national programme team ensuring delivery against key service development, activity & financial milestones. The development and provision of a suite of programme governance assurance at both a local and national level is a core component of the role, ensuring stakeholders are informed and actively engaged in the programmes to drive the continual improvement in quality and safety for our patients.

This post is a fixed term appointment until the end of March 2025.

Main duties of the job

The duties and accountabilities for this role are summarised below:

  • Responsible for the identification and delivery of projects - individually and collectively associated with the Regional Orthopaedic Programme.
  • Bring learning from the health board networks & systems into the programme & share this with other networks, health boards & systems as relevant.
  • Support collaborative working on related issues and support the development of the continuous improvement culture
  • Be the strategic programme lead ensuring the right needs are addressed & progress & delivery are on track.
  • Work closely with the work stream clinical & regional analytics team
  • Provide programme expertise & oversight to the work streams, ensuring that priorities & outputs are clinically appropriate.
  • Ensure production of programme, investment plans - supported by robust local and national reporting
  • Engage the relevant professional & other external bodies, & wider relevant clinicians, in shaping the work of the work stream.
