Job summary

We are looking for a Deputy Ward Manager forWard 2 at Singleton Hospital, this is a general surgical ward providing care for patients undergoing surgery from a wide range of specialities, Ward 2 is also home to our dedicated new "Breast Flap Unit".

This post will support the Ward Manager ensuring high quality safe care over a 24/7 period.

Main duties of the job

To assist with empowering and enabling the ward/department teams to ensure that patient care is delivered to the highest standards of care, utilising research and evidence-based practice, in line with SBUHB Nursing Policies and Procedures and N.M.C. Code of Practice and professional standards and guidance.

To undertake clinical practice, working competently alongside non -registered, and pre / post registration staff, providing supervision, teaching and assessment of competency where required.

To be responsible for the assessment of patients nursing care needs, and the development, implementation, and evaluation of programmes of care to meet those nursing needs.
