Job summary
Are you a Speech and Language Therapist looking for a dynamic new role?
Do you have a passion for working with Adults with Learning disabilities (ALD), as well as pursuing a specialism in Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC)?
If the answer is YES, then we have the perfect job for you!
You will support our Clinical Lead for ALD, in the Cwm Taf Morgannwg region, with the day-to-day running of the SLT service. You will be responsible for undertaking community visits and working closely with a positive, well-established and collaborative Community Learning Disability Health Team, to ensure excellent individual care is delivered.
You will regularly liaise with the All Wales AAC Clinical Leads group and contribute to the development of an evidence base for the All Wales AAC Pathway, in order to support our Local SLTs with their AAC decision-making. This will include attending quarterly CPD sessions with the National Centre for Electronic Assistive Technology (NCEATS), Wales, as well as supporting Local SLTs to develop and support Low and Mid-tech AAC trials, person-centred training and referrals to NCEATS.
This is an amazing opportunity for a speech and language therapist with the relevant and/or transferrable experience of an adult learning disability caseload to join our well-established team to provide not only an excellent standard of care to individuals, but to develop themselves within the AAC and leadership role too.

- Support the implementation and delivery of the All Wales AAC Pathway, supporting low and mid-tech interventions prior to consideration for NCEATS referrals.

We welcome candidates who do not fulfil the full requirements, under Annex 21.
