Job summary
Ward T is a 24 bed emergency surgery ward. The ward covers a variety of surgical specialities, with its primary focus being Maxillofacial/ENT. We are looking for a dynamic and driven Band 3 healthcare support worker, who is currently working at band 2 level and would like a new challenge.
We are seeking an individual who drives high standards of patient centred care in a challenging environment. You should be enthusiastic and motivated and enjoy working in a fast paced ever changing environment.The ward encompasses the enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) ethos, to assist patients to meet their daily goals of early mobilization and early introduction of food and fluids in the post-operative period. Excellence in communication skills, both verbal and written, is therefore essential. The band 3 will be expected to achieve competencies for wound dressings, suture/clip removal, demonstrate understanding of airway support.

Will also be required to assist the Registered nurses in the assessing, planning, management and evaluation of care.
Work as an effective member of the team, actively promoting good team relationships.
Communicate effectively with patients and relatives and overcome barriers to effective communication in a manner which is sensitive to Service User needs.
