The department of Anaesthetics in Swansea Bay UHB are looking to recruit and support 3 fixed term CESR Specialty Doctor posts.
A 3-year rotational CESR anaesthesia-training programme is proposed from September 2023. The posts will include a 2-year placement in Swansea Bay UHB as the host organisation and 1-year placement in Cardiff and Vale UHB. The training programme will offer a wide and varies case-mix across all modules required for Stage 2 & 3 sign-off under the 2021 RCoA Curriculum. Cardiff and Vale UHB is in the unique position to provide cardiac, paediatric, neuro-anaesthesia and ICM specialist training blocks, plus any major general and trauma training. Swansea Bay UHB is well placed to provide cardiac, ICM, major general and special interest area training. Completion of the programme will therefore prepare successful candidates for an application to the GMC for CESR in Anaesthesia. Close support, educational supervision and mentorship are provided to post holders across each rotational site with financial support from HEIW for educational supervision and study leave support. CESR training doctors will be given access to Welsh School of Anaesthesia educational resources, and the School Leads will support an ARCP-equivalent process.
Main duties of the job
