Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic individual to undertake the role of Administrative Support Officer (Band 3) within the Swansea Acute ClinicalTeam (ACT) based at Bonymaen Clinic, Swansea.

ACT is a community based nursing service with a specific short term remit for the provision of nursing and medical interventions in patients' homes.

The service is made up of professionals including a Consultant Geriatrician, GPs, Advanced Practitioners, Nurses, Health Care support workers and Administrators.

As a member of the administration team you will ensure a high quality reception and efficient administration service is provided to the service as a whole. This will include flexible working across both Swansea and Neath sites. Excellent communication and organisational skills are essential, as is experience in a customer service background

Main duties of the job

As an administrative support officer you will undertake the day to day administration of the service. You will be the first point of contact for health professionals, patients, their families and other agencies. You will assist in taking referrals, scheduling appointments, dealing with queries and inputting data on to patient management systems.

The role will require that you work in an established multidisciplinary team so you will need to be able to demonstrate good team working skills and behaviours, in addition to working autonomously. You may be required to deputise for the Administration Manager in their absence, which will require advanced initiative and people management skills.

We are looking for an individual who is self-motivated, organised and flexible in approach, with demonstrable experience. You should have a proven educational background, educated to a vocational level 3 in administration or equivalent. Advanced computer / keyboard skills, experience and knowledge of Microsoft office packages and excellent customer service skills are essential for this role. Previous NHS clerical experience and knowledge of clinical administration systems, such as Clinical Portal and Oracle is highly desirable for this post although training will be provided.
