Job summary

The post holder will be responsible for efficiently planning and organising the workload of the Community Child Health System Support Team, and for the provision of support to a range of Professional Staff (e.g. School Nurses, Health Visitors, GP Practice staff). This role will entail co-ordinating administrative aspects of the Childhood Immunisation and Surveillance Programmes, and Data Quality management, including identifying issues of concern in achieving the appropriate targets and ensuring efficient patient follow-up arrangements.

The post requires effective and efficient communication and liaison with a wide range of Professional staff involved in the provision of Child Health Services, and with Service Users/their care.

Additionally the post holder will be required to assist the Child Health Manager with the day-to-day management of the service and allocated staff, and will play a key role in the monitoring of standards and the identification of quality improvement measures, assisting with the implementation of change, as and when required. He/she will also deputise, in the absence of the Child Health Manager.

  • Educated to vocational level 4 or have the equivalent level of skills, knowledge and experience Familiar and confident using e-mail and Microsoft IT packages such as Word and Excel.

Desirable

  • NVQ in management or a similar formal qualification

  • Previous supervisory experience within a medical records/outpatient environment, or within a service where data input forms a significant part of the workload Extensive knowledge of Community Child Health service and Child Health 2000/CYPRIS system(s).

Desirable

  • Previous supervisory experence within the Community Child Health Service. Previous research/audit experience
