Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated and dynamic Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our in-patient Adult Mental Health service based at Cefn Coed Hospital, Swansea.
This post is particularly suited to a motivated and skilled Occupational Therapist who is competent in providing compassionate and person-centred care to service users.
The successful candidate will need to be able to take on the challenges of managing a complex caseload, be committed to team working and improving the quality of life for individuals using a recovery-focused approach. Occupational Therapy assessments and interventions will be underpinned by the Model of Human Occupation.
This role will require ongoing contribution to the development of occupational therapy Swansea Bay University Health Board. We encourage commitment to clinical supervision, personal development planning and practice placement education.
Main duties of the job
You will be required to work closely with MDT colleagues and contribute to the development of a high-quality, evidence-based occupational therapy service. You will have an opportunity to help shape and promote the service, providing you with a unique opportunity to engage in service development and change.
Alongside the clinical duties, the Band 6 OT provides advice, support and consultation to the wider MDT and provides formal and informal supervision to the band 5 Occupational Therapist and OT support staff within the team.
