To provide an efficient and professional Security/Car Parking service for the Health Board as part of the Security/ Car Parking Team carrying out a range of preventative and reactive routine, scheduled and ad-hoc Security/ Car Parking tasks on a day to day basis. To protect staff, visitors, patients and property. To undertake an active operational role as part of the responsive Security service under the guidance of the Security/Car Parking Supervisor or Senior Nursing Staff
Main duties of the job
The Security Department at Morriston Hospital are looking for responsible individuals to join the Security/Car Parking Team.
The posts will be37.5 hours per week covering various shifts including weekends and nights.
The successful candidate will need good communication skills and musthave a valid SIA license.
Other duties include,being able to provide an efficient and professional Security/Car Parking service for the Health Board as part of the Security/ Car Parking Team carrying out a range of preventative and reactive routine, scheduled and ad-hoc Security/ Car Parking tasks on a day to day basis. The Post-holder will have a specific Security and Car Parking role to be undertaken as part of the dual responsibility the Department has for the provision of Portering, Car Parking and Security Services
Security staff shall respond to all incidents (on request of the Shift Manager or Nursing Staff) where an individual(s) is reported to be behaving in an aggressive, violent or anti-social manner and defuse any given situation accordingly using tact, persuasion and, where necessary, controlled restraint techniques. Communication with victims of such incidents, and witnesses to record the pertinent facts of the incident
Ensure that all car parking equipment is working correctly reporting any faults to the Security/Car Parking Supervisor.
Assist car park users to find appropriate car parking spaces and ensure car parking is undertaken in a safe and secure manner.
Issue warning notices where vehicles are in contravention of the Health Boards car parking arrangements.
Deal with customer queries and complaints in a professional and courteous manner.
Identify vehicles that are causing an obstruction or are parked in a manner that causes a hazard.
Drive Health Board vehicles/van to deliver/distribute items as required
