An exciting opportunity has arisen for one Full-Time Junior Clinical Research Fellow in Gynaecological Oncology to join the team at the Swansea Gynaecological Oncology Centre (SGOC). This post is available to commence immediately for a fixed term period of 12 months from start date.If your ambition is to pursue a specialty training career in Obstetrics and Gynaecology or any of the specialty training or academic programmes, and you are thinking of enhancing your CV before applying, then this is an ideal opportunity for you! The Swansea Gynaecological Oncology centre provides a tertiary service to patients with gynaecological cancers in South West Wales. The post holder will play an integral role working as part of the surgical multi-disciplinary team and will join a dedicated group consisting of 4 Consultant Gynaecological Oncologists, 1 GP VTS (SHO), 1 senior research fellow, 1 senior clinical fellow, 1 surgical care practitioner and 2 clinical nurse specialists.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will receive formal clinical and educational supervision by the Gynae-Oncology consultants to further their career portfolio and granted study and annual leave as per recognised training posts. This role will be 50% research and 50% clinical and there are opportunities to study for a higher degree with Swansea University. They will be actively encouraged and expected to participate in audits, reviews, journal club presentations, Departmental meetings and teaching. Our aim is to provide the post-holder with a flexible working pattern to maximise clinical and academic exposure and learning opportunities, while at the same time providing an integral role as a member of the Gynae-Oncology team. There is no on-call commitment. The post is based at Singleton Hospital, although the successful candidate will support a range of clinical activities at other sites within the health board, including Morriston and Neath Port Talbot hospitals respectively.
