Job summary
Are you looking to move on from your first post, or are you looking for a new challenge? Do you want to gain experience working as part of our Diabetes Team as a Band 6? If so we can offer you an excellent opportunity, as we are looking for an enthusiastic team player to join the Nutrition and Dietetics Service in Swansea Bay University Health Board. The post is permanent, full time (working 37.5 hours per week). You will be based in Neath Port Talbot Hospital but you will need to support service delivery across the whole Health Board area.
The post holder will deliver a range of Structured Diabetes Education Programmes and will support the management of patients with Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes in both Dietetic led and MDT clinics. The post will allow you to develop your skills working with our Band 7 Diabetes Dietitians and as part of the wider Diabetes MDT.
Main duties of the job
The post would be suitable for a highly motivated Dietitian with experience in Diabetes management. Candidates should already have a wide knowledge and experience of working with a diverse clinical caseload. You will be supported to attend relevant Structured Diabetes Education training and will receive mentoring from a senior dietetic lead. You will have responsibilities for supervising and training of Student Dietitians, Dietetic Assistants and Assistant Practitioners.
We offer both departmental and personal CPD time to support your development and are committed to the development of evidenced based practice, research and clinical audit. You will be supported to attend relevant professional networking meetings and interest groups.
We are approved for dietetic student placements (placement 1, 2 and 3). We have good support from administrative and dietetic assistants. The Health Board has University status with Colleges of Medicine on site.
