Job summary
To work in one of the Low Secure in-patient settings in the Specialist Services Locality within the ABMU Health Board.
To work as a Registered Nurse within the Low Secure Service/Prison In-Reach Service within the Specialist Services Locality.
To work effectively as a member of the multi-disciplinary team.
To assist in the provision of care and treatment to meet people's physical,psychological, social, mental and spiritual care needs.
To assist the individual to maintain and improve their health, independence and recovery; within the ward/clinical setting and community setting.
To work with individuals assisting them to gain new skills and values promoting selfdirection and social inclusion.
To focus on providing person-centred care, with a shared responsibility for positive risk taking.
To assist people to exercise their rights and uphold safeguards to ensure minimal restriction on people's lives, whilst also maintaining the safety of others.
To contribute to the operation and the development of high quality clinical services that aim to improve outcomes for people with mental health problems.
To participate in Clinical Supervision and Reflective Practice.
To act as Named Nurse to a small group of individuals; during their episode of care as outlined in the mental health measure.
To provide one to one sessions with their allocated patients To act as an effective role model and mentor to junior staff.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a Registered Mental Health nurse to join us in working within Low Secure Services at Taith Newydd Low Secure Unit. The unit is part of the exciting Swansea Bay University Health Board service provision for people with mental health support needs. The emphasis on care and support is based on our principles of Recovery and Rehabilitation.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.About us
