Job summary

The role of the ED Primary Care Clinician/GP will form an integral part of the SBUHB unscheduled care service, acting as an interface between ED and the 111 First Hub to redirect patients into appropriate alternative pathways of care.

Main duties of the job

SBUHB are looking for ED Primary Care Clinicians to join our 111 First Hub.

The role of the ED Primary Care Clinician will form an integral part of the SBUHB unscheduled care service, acting as an interface between ED and the 111 First Hub to redirect patients into appropriate alternative pathways of care.

This post holder will be responsible for working within an evolving multidisciplinary/multi-site service and will be based in the Morriston Hospital Emergency Department to triage patients accessing care through the 111 First Hub in order to ensure that the patient is seen by the right person, in the right place at the right time.

They will also have a clear responsibility for identifying gaps in provision and supporting developments to ensure optimum service delivery over time. The post holder will be expected to participate in additional pilots to develop the service and new care pathways.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Full registration with General Medical Council (GMC)

Desirable

  • JCTGP Vocational Training Certificate
  • Higher post graduate membership, for example, MRCGP, MRCP etc
  • Up to date CPR Training

Experience

Essential

  • Actively working in General Practice or some form of community medicine or OOH service.
  • Experience of ED-GP interface
  • Extensive experience of multi disciplinary working

Desirable

  • Current experience of ED Medicine
  • Experience of service redesign
