Consultant in Restorative Denistry

Job summary

We have a vacancy for a substantive Consultant in Restorative Dentistry due to retirement. There are currently up to 10 sessions available.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team in the delivery of high quality restorative dental care to patients requiring complex multidisciplinary treatment.

You will lead on the Restorative Dental care for the Cleft Lip and Palate service in South West Wales as well as other patients requiring multidisciplinary care for oral congenital abnormalities and severe hypodontia and be a core member of the Cleft Lip and Palate MDT at Morriston Hospital.

Main duties of the job

The job involves clinical work across the disciplines of restorative dentistry as well as having a lead role in the treatment of Cleft Lip and Palate patients , you will also be involved in the treatment planning and treatments of complex restorative dental cases referred from the GDS and CDS.

You must have clinical experience in these areas as well as effective communication skills. The post requires close collaboration with allied specialties and you will need to be a committed 'team player'.

You will have the opportunity to help develop and deliver postgraduate dental courses run by the department for the development of dentists with enhanced skills and other dental trainees.

There will also be a role for supporting the current Consultants in the support of Head and Neck Cancer services and Congenital Abnormality clinics which will involve some multidisciplinary team work at the Restorative Dentistry's acute site at Morriston Hospital.

Although the base is at Morriston Hospital Swansea you will also be required to deliver sessions from the intermediate care centre at Neath Port Talbot.
