An excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic, adaptable and highly motivated pharmacist has arisen within the antimicrobial stewardship pharmacy team of Swansea Bay University Heath Board.
The post will be key to supporting the Health Board to deliver against the UK national action plan for combating antimicrobial resistance and achieving reductions in health care acquired infections.
Main duties of the job
Reporting directly to the consultant antimicrobial pharmacist you will work on a day to day basis within a friendly and forward thinking environment in either the primary care medicines management team or hospital pharmacy departments. The role will involve working closely with microbiologists, infection control teams and community / hospital based healthcare professionals, to make demonstrable improvements to antimicrobial prescribing. This will include regular attendance on MDT infection / stewardship ward rounds within the acute hospital sites.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
