Job summary
The Emergency Medical Retrieval and Transfer Service (Cymru) is Wales's exciting and innovative aeromedical prehospital and transfer service.
The service is based on the Wales Air Ambulance Charity's fleet of EC-145 and EC-135 Helicopters, backed up by rapid response vehicles to provide weather resilience. The service also responds on Wales's 2 HM Coastguard helicopters when necessary. EMRTS is consultant-led, and is committed to being the best prehospital and transfer service in the world.
We are now recruiting for Critical Care Practitioners to provide high quality clinical care in both the pre hospital / and inter hospital transfer environments.
If you want to join a progressive, and caring healthcare organisation responding to the needs of the Welsh community then we would like to hear from you.
These exciting posts require individuals to be ambitious, motivated and be able to remain calm under pressure. We know that learning and development is of immense value to patient care and we will provide MSc level education to support your practice as well as protected time to study. You will also be required to successfully complete the Helicopter Technical Crew Member Course.
Successful candidates will be put through an accelerated training programme to ensure that they are familiar with our SOPs and equipment, and have the ability to respond to the full range of clinical challenges in rural Wales, including children and babies.

The CCP will assess and treat high acuity patients by providing appropriate support and therapy and ensuring they are transferred or retrieved rapidly and safely to a care facility.
The CCP will be deployed by either Air or Road platforms. The role requires the individual to be flight trained and achieve the 'Fitness to Fly' competencies. They are also required to use advanced driving skills under blue light and normal traffic conditions to respond to and transport emergency and routine calls as required (including RRVs and ambulances)
