Job summary
Swansea Bay University Health Board in partnership with NPTC Group of Colleges is offering the opportunity to complete an apprenticeship in Business Administration at Level 2 within the Emergency Care Service Department based at Morriston Hospital.
This will consist of a work placement within the department, supported by teaching sessions to ensure that the apprentice has the relevant knowledge and skills to work effectively within the Health Board.This role is to support the staff within the Emergency Care Service Department with the running of the service and work towards a NVQ.
This role will involve working with the public and a wide range of staff groups.
Candidates should be self motivated, willing to learn and have a positive, can-do attitude and approach to be part of a team that delivers a high quality service to all.
All applicants must:
obe aged 16+ obe resident in the UK/EEA for the last three yearsonot be in any form of formal government-funded education qualificationsohave a good general standard of GCSE education or equivalent
onot hold a Level 2 NVQ in Business Administration, a similar subject, or at an equivalent levelonot have a Degree
obe flexible within normal working hours (37.5 hours per week)This post is for a fixed term of 12 months.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Main duties of the job
As a member of the team, you will assist in the day-to-day operational work of the team, which will involve liaising with members of staff across the team, locality and organisation, external organisations as required and members of the public.
- The individual will need to be motivated, willing and enthusiastic to work.
- They will gain relevant work based learning within a Business Administration environment.
- To support and assist in the efficient general running of specific departments in relation to Business Administration role and responsibilities. This will include typing, filing, storage and retrieval of data, handling of post and dealing with telephone enquiries.
- Become prepared and knowledgeable within the working environment and work towards gaining Level 2 NVQ in Business Administration.
