Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and creative team. The Mental Health and Learning Disablities (Service Group) Learning and Development Team at Swansea Bay University Health Board are involved in a wide range of training, learning and development projects across the service group. If you are keen to support colleagues to improve their knowledge and develop their skills then this is the job for you. The team base is in Tonna Hospital however we support staff in training facilities as well as visiting clinical areas across the footprint of the Service Group. The successful post holder will be encouraged to enhance and develop their skills and there will be opportunities to broaden their knowledge and education.

Main duties of the job

The candidate will need confidence and competence to lead a training session with colleagues face to face and digitally. They will be well versed in using digital platforms such as Microsoft Teams. Evaluating and reviewing training programmes is an essential component of the job as well as delivering externally developed training programmes and attending train- the-trainer training.

Creativity and thinking outside the box is actively encouraged. The ability to work as a team is essential as we collaborate on so many projects. A keen interest in supporting the learning and development of others for clinical supervision, reflective practice, development support.

In collaboration with the wider Health Board will provide training on induction and preceptorship programmes.

To assist in the development and delivery of training, education, professional development across the Mental Health & Learning Disability service group of SBUHB.

To support nurses, including students to meet their mandatory training and continuing professional development needs.

The post holder will support the Training, Education and Professional Development Lead to ensure robust processes are in place to deliver training and development programmes and to monitor the effectiveness and quality of training and development programmes.

The post holder will represent the Training, Education and Professional Development Lead at Health Board wide training, education, professional development and research forums as requested.

The post holder will have a key role in supporting the vision and supportive infrastructure that reflects Corporate and service group objectives, where training, education and development needs are planned in conjunction with national policy, strategy and changing professional knowledge base.

The post holder will adhere to The NMC Code of Professional Standards of Practice and behaviour for Nurses and Midwives (2018) and will ensure they maintain their nursing registration through proper revalidation.
