Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a HCSW to join a team of experienced nurses working on our busy Acute Medical Unit, which also looks after patients who have multiple acute medical problems.
You will have the opportunity to develop your skills, under the supervision of qualified nurses, caring for patients who are acutely ill with medical conditions. This unit is a busy area that provides an excellent opportunity to deal with patients in a short and medium-term care environment.
Experience within the specialty of Medicine is desirable but not essential. The post is rotational between day and night duty.
This post is fixed term/secondment for 2 years to cover a career break. If you are interested in applying for it as a secondment, please obtain permission from your current line manager prior to applying.
Main duties of the job
Your role will consist of assisting and supporting the Registered Nurses and ward manager and Sisters to deliver excellent patient centred care.
The Unit is fast paced and dynamic, you will be expected to work to a band 3 job description, full training will be given but experience is essential as a HCSW.
Welsh Skills Desirable: This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable at Level 3 Speaking/Listening (or 'B1' Level if you've learnt Welsh as an adult). This doesn't mean you have to be fluent or able to write long reports in Welsh; it just means being able to hold simple conversations with patients.
