Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a team of experienced nurses caring for Trauma and Orthpaedic patients, within the acute surgical division. The wards focus is on Trauma and Orthopeadic patients, as part of the South Wales Trauma Network.
We currently have a position for an enthusiastic, motivated, experienced registered nurse to join our team as a Band 6 clinical and managerial position on the Trauma and Orthopaedic Unit - this also includes the Trauma Assessment Unit (TAU) on ward 16, Royal Glamorgan Hospital
Main duties of the job
The ideal candidate must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a flexible approach to work. A commitment to delivering high standards of patient focused care is an essential requirement of the post.
You will possess the ability to work on your own initiative whilst working as part of the team, and the ability to develop relationships across professional and Organisational boundaries. The ideal candidate would have a clear vision for best practice and a reparation for professional innovation
You will be a vital part of the ward team, to support the Ward Manager, you will be integral to the governance agenda as well as demonstrating excellent and effective leadership skills. In return, you will be supported by a dedicated and passionate team, and you will be supported in your own professional development. You will have access to further study and opportunities to expand your role in line with service development.
To be successful you will have significant experience as a band 5 and knowledge and experience of nursing patients within the orthopaedic setting, is desirable but not essential.
