Job summary
EDOS is a Welsh Government funded resource for South, East and West Wales CAMHS teams. It provides specialist consultation, supervision, specialist assessments/second opinions, training and treatment for the full range of eating disorder presentations in young people. EDOS is a small, cohesive, multi-disciplinary team with passion to improve treatment for young people with an eating disorder and their families.
The team is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and experienced Family Psychotherapist to both continue the team's current activities and to also expand the service to implement an Intensive Treatment Programme. EDOS is currently revising its current provision and this post will contribute to a new re-invigorated team taking forward the demands and complexities that this population of young people can present. It is an exciting and pivotal time for EDOS where changes and new ideas are welcomed and considered thoughtfully.
You will make a significant contribution to the running and development of a coherent and expanded model and service alongside being responsible for planning and co-ordinating the provision of a highly specialist Systemic Psychotherapy Service within EDOS and outreaching to all health boards in the South/West/East and Mid Wales area. You will also be involved at a senior level around management of the service provision and responsible for junior colleagues.
Main duties of the job
Work as part of a small, cohesive EDOS multi-disciplinary team.
Will primarily offer a highly specialist systemic assessment, advice and consultation to CAMHS and sometimes non-CAMHS colleagues on the ongoing care of young people with serious eating disorders. In addition, and where necessary they will provide a highly specialist systemic psychotherapy service to referred young people alongside colleagues.
Will hold lead responsibility within the EDOS for training in systemic psychotherapy practice. This will form a major part of the role and will incorporate training to CAMHS and Paediatric colleagues.
Will work as part of the EDOS but will be clinically autonomous and governed by CTMUHB policies, professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team's own policies and procedures.
A significant element of their role will be to act as a training resource within the team, providing highly specialist training in respect of eating disorder approaches.
Welsh Skills Desirable: This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable.
