We are recruiting for a Pharmacist with knowledge in cardiology and who shares our health board values and passion for improving the care of patients in Wales
We are looking for a dynamic, motivated, and forward-thinking clinical pharmacist to work with the cardiology and clinical pharmacy team. You will be responsible for providing leadership and delivery of a high quality, proactive and patient focused clinical pharmacy service.
The post holder will attend ward rounds on cardiology and use their independent prescribing qualification (where applicable) to optimise patient care. There is true multidisciplinary interaction in this role.
The successful candidate will support unscheduled care group as and when needed as well, This is a great opportunity to enhance leadership skills and provide operational support to the Team Lead. The post is based at the Princess of Wales Hospital in Bridgend but we work collaboratively across all sectors of pharmacy as ONE team.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be the Clinical Lead Pharmacist for cardiology, providing highly specialised pharmaceutical advice and regular reports on clinical and financial drug issues, and be responsible for providing a safe and effective clinical pharmacy service to patients in the Medical Directorate.
The post holder will be accountable for own professional actions and undertake duties in accordance with National protocols, legislation, and Cwm Taf Morgannwg UHB policies and procedures.
The post holder will deliver a high quality specialised clinical pharmacy service to promote the safe rational and cost effective use of medicines, through personal practice and the training of other staff.
Welsh Skills Desirable: This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. This doesn't mean essential; whilst the candidate doesn't need to have skills in Welsh, we'll consider it an advantage when short-listing and selecting candidates. This isn't 'fluency', just Speaking & Listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means basic conversations with patients about their everyday health.

- oVocational Masters Degree in Pharmacy.
- oRegistered with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
- oPostgraduate Qualification in Clinical or Hospital Pharmacy, or equivalent clinical experience.
- oAccredited Tutor for the Cardiff University Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy (or able to be accredited).
- oGood knowledge of medicines management issues between primary and secondary care.
- oEvidence of continuing professional development.
Desirable
- oPostgraduate Diploma in Therapeutics.
- oNon Medical Prescriber
- oUnderstanding of quality improvement and IQT methodology
- oMember of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS)
