This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified Psychologist to join us as we move towards transforming our Rehabilitation & Recovery Services.
The post will be split between Pinewood House Rehabilitation Unit in Treorchy & the Outreach Recovery team (ORT) at Kier Hardie Health Park in Merthyr. Pinewood House is a 16-bed mixed-sex setting offering step-down from inpatient to community settings.
ORT offers flexible community-based interventions to those who are often disengaged from traditional services.
The post holder will help transform services by providing psychological perspectives; with key values including a trauma informed & co-produced approach to complex needs. The psychologist's role is highly valued and well supported, with a strong emphasis on multidisciplinary collaboration to ensure holistic care.
The psychology rehabilitation team includes a Consultant, Principle & Assistant Clinical Psychologist, Clinical/CAAP Trainees & Undergraduate Students. CTM psychology services are developing enhanced communication across specialties & service-wide conferences to share good practice & innovations.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will help transform services by providing psychological perspectives to individuals and the organisation. Key values include a trauma informed and co-produced approach to complex needs, prioritising teamwork staff support and development. The psychologist's role is highly valued, with a strong emphasis on multidisciplinary collaboration
As a psychologist within these teams, you will play a key role in formulating and delivering evidence-informed interventions tailored to individual needs, while also contributing to risk management, service development, and staff training. You will work closely with psychiatrists, nurses, occupational therapist and support workers to ensure holistic care. - Doctoral level training in clinical or counselling psychology, (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 2000) including specifically, models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics and neuropsychology, two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology as accredited by the BPS or registered for, and actively pursuing, the Statement of Equivalence in Clinical Psychology.
- Eligibility for registration with the Health Professions Council.

- Knowledge of risk assessment and management.
- Knowledge of legislation in relation to the specialism and mental health generally.
