Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for two Health IDVA to work across CTMUHB. The post is funded until 31st March 2027.
The post will be expected to deliver advocacy support and advice within the Health Board (CTMUHB), to clients of ages from 13 years old to adulthood, who have experienced or at risk of domestic or relationship abuse in the Health Board region.
To provide targeted support, helping adults and young people to be safe from harm and develop their understanding of healthy relationships.
Work within professional guidelines to deliver specialist advocacy and high-quality support to those at the highest risk of Domestic or relationship abuse, and Sexual Violence.
Work in partnership with the Local Authority, Police, Crown Prosecution Service and Third Sector Agencies to ensure that clients are adequately supported through health and psychological services and where necessary, criminal justice and follow-on support agencies.
Prioritise, assess, plan, implement and evaluate all relevant aspects of care to an expected high standard. They will work closely with the multi-disciplinary team and contribute to the clinical governance process.
Main duties of the job

o Identify and assess the risks and needs of Domestic and relationship Abuse, and Violence (DA&V) survivors using an evidence-based risk identification checklist. o As the subject matter expert for DA&V, provide face-to-face and telephone support to clients, both short and long term.o Work with all levels of DA&V risk, facilitating access to services to keep them and their children safe. A new project involving young people aged 13-18 years may be included in the duties and therefore prior experience of working with this age group would be of benefit.o To contact clients within 72 hours of initial attendance at Emergency Department (ED) to offer advocacy.
