Peer Support Worker (EDOS)

The closing date is 30 June 2025

Job summary

Peer Support Worker (EATING DISORDER OUTREACH SERVICE)

EDOS is a Welsh Government funded resource for South, East and West Wales CAMHS teams. It provides specialist consultation, supervision, training and treatment for the full range of eating disorder presentations in young people. The team offers multi-family group treatment and parent coaching both in a face to face context and remotely. EDOS also provides an intensive treatment day to the regional in-patient service.

EDOS is a small, cohesive, multi-disciplinary team with passion to improve treatment for young people with an eating disorder and their families. The team is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic Peer Mentor to contribute to the developing work of the team. This is an important new development for EDOS and indeed for the whole of CAMHS. The expectation is that the post holder will be part of the ongoing therapeutic work of the team while adding a confident knowledge that recovery is a journey for all young people and their families.

Because this post is an addition to the current multi-disciplinary team, EDOS will coordinate support for the post holder within the wider co-production and lived experience network within CTMUHB and South Wales. However, the post holder will function as a 'trailblazer' which may require a level of resilience.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work with the Eating Disorder Outreach Service (EDOS) to co-produce ways of supporting young people and their families in their recovery.

Through sharing the knowledge of their own lived experience to inspire hope and belief that recovery is possible for young people with an eating disorder and their families.

They will provide a wide range of therapeutic interventions alongside clinicians in EDOS to promote and support recovery.
