Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board, is looking to fill the exciting and rewarding role of Senior Nurse in Clinical Haematology (Band 8a).
The Clinical Haematology service provides services to the Merthyr Cynon and Rhondda Taff Ely regions of the Health Board. The service comprises of:
- Consultant medical team
- Two Haematology Day Unit nursing teams
- Transfusion Practitioner service
- Macmillan Cancer team
- Secondary care phlebotomy service
As a key leader in the service you will be responsible for the line management of the nursing and phlebotomy teams and responsible for operational management and governance of Clinical Haematology in CTMUHB.
You will play a key role in shaping the service to ensure our patients have the best possible experience and that our care is in line with the highest standards. An understanding of haematology care is preferred, however, this is not essential. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills will be essential to this role.
Main duties of the job
Be responsible for the operational management and governance of Clinical Haematology in CTMUHB.
Provide leadership, direction and development of nursing staff.
Support the Head of Nursing in ensuring the highest standard of nursing care is provided, monitored and evaluated within the clinical areas of responsibility.
The post holder will be required to interpret national and health board policies and procedures and advice on the implementation of these for their area of responsibility.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
